about

The Moth and the Mirror are: Stacey Sievwright (The Reindeer Section, Arab Strap), – Vocals; Guitar; Gordon Skene (Frightened Rabbit) – Guitar, Vocals; Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow, Song of Return) – Guitar/Vocals; Kevin McCarvel (Smoke Jaguar) – Bass; Iain Sandilands – Percussion; Peter Murch – Drums
The Moth and the Mirror are back after a writing sabbatical with the resplendent ‘Lights in the Sky’. This stunning track catapults the band back into the limelight ahead of their forthcoming album release later in the year. Recorded by Dave McAuley at Chem 19 Studios and mixed by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Super Furry Animals, Belle and Sebastian), ‘Lights in the Sky’ is the perfect re-introduction to this consummate 6-piece.
Since making their live debut in October 2006, the band have played T in the Park and Connect Festival, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They have gained previous radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland and XFM Scotland. They have also supported the likes of Snow Patrol, Frightened Rabbit and Maria Taylor.
Olive Grove Records are very proud to announce that ‘Lights in the Sky’ will be The Moth and the Mirror’s debut release through our label and will mark the start of the build up to the release of their debut album, ‘Honestly, This World’ on the 10th of October 2011.
